- Hi - My
name is CID (short for the most precious pussycat in the entire
world, in all of recorded history, from when time began, and into eternity).
Well OK maybe for the two that adopted me. See I came with a load of
health problems from the beginning and I might as well book a permanent
room at the vet's office because I am always there for something. My
health problems have been severe and very much life threatening. I really
do keep my spirits up high considering what I have been through. When
they came to adopt me they were told I had been abused and was just
finishing a six month recuperation from having no fur or skin on my
back, tail and hind legs. As Bruno said above when we met the new vet
he was prying my mouth open to tell them how old I was and then he said
with surprise that even though I look like 1 and a half years old that
I have absolutely no teeth in my mouth whatsoever! I am probably 7 and
a half years old now but no one is sure.
- Since
then I have endured raging ear infections which led to the discovery
of a cancerous tumour in my ear. It was a good thing really because
after that removal surgery I have not had cancer again. Just this year
I had a terrible scare with my overactive thyroid causing damage to
my heart, lungs and kidneys. I have pulled through again but only by
the skinny. Speaking of skinny, I only weigh in at 6 pounds where Bruno
is about 16 pounds. He does make an "exceedingly good" pillow!
- I am a
social pussycat. I love all people that come to visit and I make friends
with my frequent vet visits. Never do I look frightened or afraid. My
purr is unique and sounds like someone has found uranium on a geiger
counter.
- Bruno
and I have a wonderful garden to play in and we enjoy having a good
wander around in nice weather. They put in a pond, stocked it with fish,
and then tell us NO when we want to go fishing! What good is a pond
full of fish if we are not allowed to go fishing. Mostly we are real
softies now, house cats, living with all the comforts the people have
and really enjoying it. We don't go out when it is wet, we don't go
out when it is windy.
- While
the people watch their TV, we watch our TV. We just look out at the
garden to see the fish and frogs in the pond, lots of birds flying around
and having a bath, and glare at the roaming cats that come through our
garden. We know we have it better though. We decided long ago not to
answer the call of the wild. We are staying right where we are as we
know a good thing when we see it.
